Our Stories
I strongly support keeping the dog beach in our community. It’s been a wonderful addition for years, providing a space for dogs and their owners to enjoy. While I understand there may be concerns about rule enforcement, eliminating the dog beach entirely would leave us without a suitable alternative. This beach has been a part of our community for a long time, even before it was official, and I believe it enhances our community. I know people who love to stop and watch the pups having a great time in the water. Let’s find a way to address concerns without taking away this valuable resource.

Betty is a 2 year old dog who lives for other dogs. When she goes to the dog beach she loves to watch all the other dogs. We bring her toys to fetch, but she’s like the greeters at Walmart welcoming all the other dogs. We do keep Betty on a lead because she’s young and we don’t trust her recall and two, not all of the other dogs want Betty Lou in their face. The beach has built her confidence, taught her that water isn’t scary, and it gives her a chance to learn about socializing with other dogs. It’s such a unique opportunity for her, and luckily it’s only 3 blocks away. We love our weekly visits to our dog beach.

Xochi entertain people leaping out of water like a gazzel looking for fish, her favorite think to do. We literally have to pick her up Out of water otherwise she won’t quit. It is a great way for us as seniors to get out and wade with her in the water, and meet other dog people. Afar we enjoy walking to town for lunch or Gelato, Please save the dog beach for dogs and people to enjoy!!!!!!
